The Haier 85M80 counters with Mini-LED QLED technology, a claimed 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio and Sound by KEF speakers. Your choice depends on whether you prioritize gaming performance, picture technology or audio quality.

Verdict

The TCL 85P8L is the better overall choice for gamers and users who want smoother motion, thanks to its 144Hz motion rate, VRR and higher 3GB RAM. Its ONKYO audio system and four HDMI 2.1 ports add to its appeal. However, the Haier 85M80 is worth considering for its Mini-LED QLED backlight, higher listed contrast ratio and KEF-tuned sound system. For an all-round feature-rich experience, TCL gets the edge.
