TCL 65C7L

The LG 65QNED856QA and TCL 65C7L are both 65-inch 4K Mini LED TVs, but they take different approaches to picture quality and gaming. LG combines QNED Mini LED technology, Dolby Vision IQ, a 120Hz panel and a strong set of smart and picture-processing features. TCL pushes further for gamers with a 144Hz refresh rate, up to 3000 nits peak brightness, 1152 dimming zones, VRR up to 288Hz and FreeSync Premium Pro. TCL also offers a 60W 2.2-channel audio system, compared with LG's 40W output. For movies and everyday viewing, both are well-equipped, while TCL has the stronger specification sheet for high-end gaming.

Verdict

The TCL 65C7L is the stronger overall choice for gamers and users who prioritize brightness, contrast, refresh rate and built-in audio. Its 144Hz panel, 1152 dimming zones, 3000-nit peak brightness and advanced gaming features give it a clear advantage. The LG 65QNED856QA remains a good choice for users who prefer LG's webOS ecosystem, Dolby Vision IQ and a proven 120Hz gaming setup. For maximum performance, TCL wins; for a balanced smart-TV experience, LG is still compelling.
