What is Active noise cancellation?

Posted : 13th Jul 2022

Active noise cancellation works on a noise cancellation system that reduces unwanted background sound. It uses a microphone and speakers to reduce background and surrounding noises. This type is mostly been used in over-ear Headphones. Due to advances in technology, it can be used in wireless in-ear earphones.

Active noise cancellation can be processed through three different feedback systems. In the case of the microphone placed on the outside of the earphone is a forward feed ANC system and on the inside of the earphone is a back feed ANC system whereas a hybrid ANC system is a combination of a feed-forward and a feed-back ANC system.
